NASCAR.com Animated Series Sends Biggest Fan
to Daytona 500
- Winner revealed for trip
of a lifetime -
LOS ANGELES – Feb.7, 2006
SportsBlast,
a producer of innovative animated content for the Internet and traditional
media, today announced the winner of The Kellys Sweepstakes. The
winner, Jason White of New Orleans, is the lucky recipient of a
trip for four to the Daytona 500. The sweepstakes received more
than 20,000 entries in a period of three weeks. SportsBlast is sponsored
by Exide Technologies
, one of the world’s largest producers and recyclers of
lead-acid batteries, and Supercuts,
the nation’s number one pick for a good haircut.
“This really is a dream come true for me,” said Jason
White. “I’m being rewarded with a trip to the biggest
race of the year for watching an animated show that I absolutely
love to watch! After losing so much to the devastation of Hurricane
Katrina, this is a great opportunity for me to have some fun. I’m
a huge fan of The Kellys and NASCAR – winning this trip is
just so meaningful.”
Along with tickets to the race on Feb. 19, 2006, the prize package
includes tickets to grandstand events leading up to the race; hospitality
passes for the entire weekend, domestic airfare, accommodations
and $500 in spending money. In addition, SportsBlast will create
an animated character using White’s likeness in a future episode
of The Kellys.
According to producers at SportsBlast, White will be in good company,
with featured 2006 guest appearances slated from celebrities including
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick, Catherine Bell, from
the CBS drama JAG and Academy Award winning R&B artist Isaac
Hayes.
“We are so excited to be able to send our biggest fan to
the Daytona 500,” said Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson
and founder of SportsBlast. “The Kellys has really found a
niche with its fan base, and we love being able to give back to
our fans, as they have overwhelmingly supported our series during
its debut season. We look forward to having some more fun in season
two, which kicks off on February 15th.”
